Thirteen reasons why I haven’t blogged lately:

1. John has been out of town since 08/18.
2. I’ve been a single mom with three kids since 08/18.
3. Kids are back in school and I’m shuttling them to/from twice a week which cuts into my work from home time, making me work longer days from home. But I TOTALLY don’t mind at all. It’s the first time I’ve actually got to drive the kids to school and I love doing the mom thing!
4. We’re having our first garage sale on 09/16.
5. I have a TON of stuff in storage I’ve been sorting through for said garage sale.
6. What I don’t want to sell at the garage sale, I’ve been listing on ebay.
7. I’ve been reading the Dear Elena blog. If you’ve never had a chance to read it, please stop by. His writing is so touching and full of emotion. From his tragedy, I’ve realized that I’m not spending enough time with my kids. So instead of blogging and saying “not right now, mommy’s busy”, I’ve been saying “sure, I’ll play with you”.
8. I gave my notice at work and have been working overtime from home trying to get my projects completed.
9. I’ve been trying to post our vacation stuff in the order it happened. Right now I’ve been screwing around with the pictures and trying to get them loaded into the gallery. Maybe I should just post and put the pictures in later….
10. I’ve been reading too many blogs instead of updating my own.
11. John IV is starting pre-school next week. After 3 weeks of interviews, tours, and filling out paperwork, I’ve finally decide on which one. His new pre-school is two days a week, right in the middle of his nap time (great), but it’s a co-op where I get to work there 1 day per week. I’m so looking forward to it!!!
12. Someone has decided that eventhough bedtime is at 8:30, he’ll make every excuse in the wolrd on why he can’t sleep and will stay up until almost 10:00. This is really cutting into my computer/mom time. Good thing Dad is coming home on Friday – he’ll fix that!
13. I’ve been playing Diner Dash when I should be paying bills or something. Ok, well I haven’t been playing it that much, but if I would blog instead of play, I’d probably be caught up.

This is probably the hardest Thursday Thirteen so far as I’ve run out of human family members (well, immediate family members at least). So this week is dedicated to Kitty, Bobby, and Breezy.

1. Kitty was adopted from the Santa Clara Humane Society in 1992. She was three years old at the time which makes her the oldest at around 17.
2. Bobby (Kaileigh’s cat) was adopted from San Martin Animal Shelter is is around 8 (I think).
3. Breezy was adopted from Border Collie Rescue and is the newest member of the family and will be turning 1 this month!
4. Kitty currently weighs around 12 pounds, but was as big as 20. We used to call her the cat with the shrunken head cause her body was so big which made her head look so small!
5. Bobby is the best hunter of both the cats. He is always bringing home something to show us, mice, small lizards, and more than once he brought home a small jack rabbit.
6. Breezy has lived in 5 homes in her short life. Her first home was where she was born, with 40 other dogs. Her second home was the humane society where she lived for 4 months when all the dogs were removed from the home. Her third home was with the Border Collie Rescue lady who evaluates the dogs. Her fourth home was with a  Border Collie Foster family. Finally her last and forever home is with us
7. Kitty was originally an indoor cat, but when John & I were married, she became an outdoor cat due to the kids allergies. She LOVES being outdoors and will hardly even come in the house anymore!
8. We have two cat beds by the front door that Bobby and Kitty sleep in and once in a while, one of the beds will blow away. It’s the funniest thing to wake up in the morning and find both of them in one small cat bed – especially when Kitty is so much bigger than Bobby and practically squishes him!
9. This morning after I had taken Breezy out to potty, I brought her upstairs with me while I got ready for work. While I was getting ready, she went downstairs to eat breakfast. About 10 minutes later, she came bouncing happily upstairs with the cat food container lid in her mouth. Yep, sure enough she had eaten the rest of the cat food, luckily there wasn’t that much left in the container. She then proceeded to barf it all up on the living room carpet. Ick…
10. Bobby has a thing about human toes. It’s so cute the way he licks them when you’re barefoot or in flip-flops. But watch out cause the next thing you know he’s biting them!
11. Breezy is quite the escape artist. We have yet to keep her in the dog run for more than a few hours before she figures a way out. Her favorite activity when she escapes is running around the back 40 and rolling in anything she can find that is dead (we have a lot of wildlife in our area, so it’s not unusual to find deer, turkeys, etc that have unfortunately expired).
12. Breezy got out once and it took me at least an hour to coax her back home. She was running around with something in her mouth that I just couldn’t make out and when I finally was able to catch her I discovered she was running around with a turkey foot in her mouth. GROSS!
13. Last but not least, we love all of these critters and will sadly miss them when they are gone. Hopefully they will be waiting for us with all our other pets at the rainbow bridge.

1. She was born with blue eyes but they are now a beautiful shade of brown.
2. She has a dimple in her left cheek.
3. Maybe that’s why she’s left-handed.
4. She loves to help me in the kitchen, especially when I’m baking something yummy.
5. She knows how to play the drums and the clarinet.
6. She loves inventing creative new games and fun stories for her little brother.
7. She was born the same day her Grandpa Lynn died. Her dad told her that God waited to call Grandpa Lynn home until he heard that she was beautiful and healthy.
8. She is a wonderfully gifted artist and is extremely creative.
9. She has gotten straight A’s in school twice!
10. She has the fastest wit and humor of anyone in the family.
11. She is the only one in the family to ever have stiches caused by an accident (ok, one stitch, but it was traumatic!).
12. She is a neat freak (just don’t open her closet or drawers).
13. She loves baby pigs!

2. She can literally survive on peanut butter, tofu, Robeks and top ramen.
3. She earned her Black Belt in taekwondo when when she was 13.
4. She plays piano (awsome!) and guitar (even more awsome!) but can’t read music.
5. She is wonderfully creative and artistic.
6. She is one of the most sensitive and easy to guilt people I have ever known. She even feels guilty when it’s not her fault!
7. She loves rollercoasters.
8. She is practically blind without her glasses or contacts.
9. Her middle name is her grandfathers first name.
10. Her celebrity crush in 5th grade was Aaron Carter, now it’s Jared Ledo.
11. She has a beautiful singing voice.
12. She made me a delicious breakfast in bed for my birthday last year all by herself.
13. Secretly she really loves the color pink (ok, not really).
